Transportation to Houston Methodist — All Campuses Guide

Houston Methodist isn't one hospital — it's a system of eight hospitals plus a constellation of specialty centers spread across the metro. That's great for patients (care close to home) and confusing for transportation ("Methodist" could mean the Texas Medical Center flagship or a campus 35 miles away in The Woodlands). Here's the patient's guide to getting to each one.

Quick answer: Always confirm which Methodist campus your appointment letter names before booking any ride — the flagship (6565 Fannin St, TMC) and the seven community hospitals have completely different drop-off logistics. For TMC appointments, door-through-door transport beats parking for most patients; suburban campuses are easier to drive but still hard post-procedure. We serve every Methodist campus daily: (832) 369-2500.

The flagship: Houston Methodist Hospital (Texas Medical Center)

The main campus at 6565 Fannin St is a TMC giant — multiple towers (Dunn, Walter, Smith, Outpatient Center), connected garages, and long indoor distances. The classic mistake is parking in a garage that serves the wrong tower and walking 15 minutes inside. If you're driving, match your garage to your building before you leave home; if you're riding with us, your driver drops you at the correct tower entrance and walks you to check-in. (Our TMC parking vs. transport comparison covers the math.)

The community campuses

Each suburban hospital has standard patient drop-offs and far simpler parking than the TMC — the challenge is usually distance from home and post-procedure rules, not navigation:

  • Houston Methodist Sugar Land — Hwy 59 at Sweetwater Blvd; serves Fort Bend (our Sugar Land, Missouri City, Richmond, and Stafford clients' default)
  • Houston Methodist The Woodlands — I-45 at TX-242; Montgomery County's hub
  • Houston Methodist West — I-10 Energy Corridor; serves Katy and west Houston
  • Houston Methodist Willowbrook — TX-249; northwest Houston, Tomball, Cypress
  • Houston Methodist Clear Lake — Bay Area Blvd corridor; serves Webster, League City, Friendswood
  • Houston Methodist Baytown — east metro's anchor hospital
  • Houston Methodist Continuing Care (Katy) — long-term acute and rehab transfers

Find any campus's details on the official Houston Methodist locations page.

The trips we run to Methodist every week

  • Recurring treatment — infusion, cardiac rehab, physical therapy, wound care on standing schedules
  • Procedure-day round trips — anesthesia means no driving yourself; facilities enforce it (why Uber doesn't count)
  • Discharges — home or to rehab, coordinated with the floor nurses, wheelchair and stretcher vans available
  • Cross-campus transfers — suburban campus to the TMC flagship for specialty care is a route we know cold
  • Family logistics — out-of-town relatives from IAH/Hobby to the bedside

Booking it right

Give us three things: the exact campus name from your appointment letter, the building or department if it's the TMC flagship, and your mobility level. We flat-quote the route, arrive 10–15 minutes early, and walk you in. Call (832) 369-2500 or get a quote online.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know which Houston Methodist campus my appointment is at? Check the address on your appointment letter or portal — "Houston Methodist Hospital" at 6565 Fannin St is the TMC flagship; anything else names its community campus (Sugar Land, The Woodlands, West, Willowbrook, Clear Lake, Baytown). Give your driver the exact address.

Can you take me to the right building at the main TMC campus? Yes — Dunn, Walter, Smith, and the Outpatient Center have different entrances, and our drivers know which department sits where. Door-through-door means you're walked to check-in, not dropped at a generic curb.

Do you do discharges from Houston Methodist? Daily — home or facility-bound, coordinated with the nursing staff on timing, with wheelchair and stretcher options. (Discharge guide.)

Can you transfer me from Methodist Sugar Land to the main TMC campus? Yes, cross-campus specialty referrals are a standing route for us — one booking covers it.

Do you run recurring rides to Methodist infusion or rehab programs? Yes — standing schedules with the same driver each visit, flat-quoted for the whole program.

Which areas do you pick up from? All 21 cities we serve across Greater Houston — every one of them has a Methodist campus within our daily routes.
